12 Days of DIY Christmas: Day Eight - Canvas Art

Eeek....another one without step by step pictures. I made these before I knew what tutorials or blogging were. I still love them to this day, so I thought I would share with you how to make them...it really is quite simple.

All I did was paint the canvas the background colour. You can use rigid insulation, plywood, whatever you find that's free or cheap...I already had the canvas.

Then I printed the letters onto cardstock, cut the printed part out so I had my own homemade free stencil. Again...you can use the fancy cutting machines everyone (but me) seems to have these days, or you can buy stencil, but I like being able to pick out the exact font and size I want.

And I stenciled on the ho ho ho and the fa la la la...

You might need to do a few coats of the colour on top.

Please ignore the wrinkled table runner and the table not being centered underneath....it's the lazy in me showing.

But that's really it....and just so you know...the fa la la one was WAY harder than the ho ho ho because I wanted a fancier font and way more to "stencil"....it was a pain.

You could also just cut the letters out and paint them and mod podge them on instead.

So many different ways to do your own version of this.
